For people who are incarcerated, a letter or photograph from home goes a long way. But more jails and prisons are introducing cruel policies that mean people in those facilities never get them. This inspired me to emphasize the physicality and emotion inherent in correspondence. By incorporating tangible elements into a collage and blending them with illustration, I aimed to foreground the human experience.
